With nearly 30,000 people across the city voting, this recognition means so much to our team, and we’re deeply grateful to everyone who continues to support our mission and gather around our table.

Plant-forward dining has always been an important part of who we are.

From our organic-forward ingredients and scratch kitchen approach to vegan and vegetarian dishes designed to feel vibrant, satisfying, and approachable for every type of eater, we believe nourishing food should also be exciting, craveable, and rooted in connection.

We’re incredibly grateful to Good Day Columbus for welcoming John and Sunny Fahlgren from SŌW Plated to share the heart behind SŌW during Mental Health Awareness Month.

The conversation highlighted the restaurant’s “Good Food, Good Mood” philosophy and how the menu was thoughtfully built around the principles of the Antidepressant Food Scale developed by Drew Ramsay - showcasing how nutrient-dense ingredients can support mood, energy, brain health, and overall wellbeing.

Featured dishes included the Steak Sandwich, Kale Salad with Salmon, and Jackfruit Tacos - all examples of how nourishing food can still be vibrant, satisfying, and deeply flavorful while delivering nutrients that support mental and physical health.

It’s proof of something we believe wholeheartedly at SŌW: good food truly does equal good mood.

John and Sunny also shared more about the work happening beyond the plate through the The Wall of Hope Foundation, which is helping expand access to nutritional education, resources, and nutrient-dense meals throughout the community.

During May, SŌW is also proud to partner with organizations like the Beechive Alliance and the Scatter Joy Project to continue raising awareness around the powerful connection between food and mental wellbeing.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, SŌW Plated is proud to partner with the Beehive Alliance through our “Sip for a Cause” Strawberry Lemonade - where $1 from every lemonade sold goes directly to support their mission of strengthening connection, expanding access to mental health resources, and building a more resilient community.

It’s a simple way to turn something refreshing into something meaningful.

Our Strawberry Lemonade is thoughtfully crafted with muddled basil, organic made-in-house strawberry purée, fresh lemon juice, and organic simple syrup, shaken over ice, topped with club soda, and finished with a lemon wedge garnish.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and at SŌW Plated, it’s a moment to highlight the work we’re doing alongside our community partners to support mental wellbeing in meaningful, tangible ways - because the connection between food, mood, and overall health is something we believe in every single day.

Throughout the month, we’re proud to support Beehive Alliance through our “Sip for a Cause” Strawberry Lemonade - where $1 from every lemonade sold is donated directly to @beehivealliance to help strengthen connection, support mental health initiatives, and build a more resilient community.

We’re also continuing our Live SŌW Well Speaker Series, welcoming Zachariah Thompson on Monday, May 18, for a conversation titled “More Than a Word: Your Values Aren’t a List. They’re a Life.” As the founder of @thescatterjoyproject , Zachariah is on a mission to transform mental healthcare - making it more accessible, affordable, and rooted in dignity for all.

And through our ongoing partnership with Wall of Hope Foundation, guests now have the option at checkout to donate $1, $3, or $5 to support programs that strengthen mental health and connection in our community.

Wall of Hope’s mission is to educate our community about the evidence-based relationship between food, mood, and overall cognitive brain function, while also providing nutrient-dense meals to individuals and families facing an immediate health challenge.

Dr. Mark Hyman - whose research underscores one of the most important conversations happening in medicine today - recently shared: what you eat changes your brain chemistry, your stress response, and your ability to feel joy. Your plate is a mood intervention - whether you treat it like one or not.

This idea is the entire purpose behind our restaurant and our mission.

These efforts are how we recognize Mental Health Awareness Month - not as a one-time initiative, but as an extension of our everyday ethos.
